about

A couple little things for you excellent subscribers! I apologize for the delay on the release of Slow Waves. I am waiting for the art to be finished. I'll be releasing it as soon as I can. In the meantime please enjoy three unreleased un-mastered tracks.

1) Sun Clouds (Instrumental Whetzel Orchestra Version)

This is something I had 90% completed in 2013. I originally was going to make a whole album in this style but set it aside as I got busy with Man With a Movie Camera etc. I recorded many acoustic percussion parts to make the Whetzel Orchestra. I was daunted by the prospect of finalizing the arrangement then. Mixing it all down now proved much easier. I hope to put out a mastered version of this in 2018, perhaps with some violin parts added...

2) Days in Black Satin (165 BPM Instrumental Riddim)

What if "Days in Black Satin" was instrumental and twice as fast? And I got rid of the vocal and replaced it with synths? Listen and know. I think this would be a cool track for a vocal, but not by me. A rapper or a dancehall vocalist seem like the logical choices to make for it, hence the "riddim" in the title. I find this really fun. It came about because I was streaming the original track from youtube or some such and there was problem with the stream and it played at double speed. I though, oh that's pretty cool! So then I opened up the arrangement and made it happen. I may release a mastered version of this in 2018.

3) Just One

This is the first track from the "Beats and a Half" release which I may work on more in 2018. I am sending it to vocalist Jamika Ajalon to see what she'll do with it. This is in 4.5/4 or 9/8. It feels like 4 and a half to me!

I hope you enjoy the music! Thanks for supporting me!
